Fattorie Chiarappa traces its origins back to the years after the Second World War when Francesco Chiarappa started trading in the dairy business near Bari. He began buying fresh cheeses and ricotta from cheese manufacturers and reselling them locally to small shops.

Since 1978, the Company has experienced a sensible growth both in the production and in the trading business activities due to the expansion to new markets and the range of products offered.

Being a 30-year established company, Fattorie Chiarappa has gained leadership positions in the Italian and foreign markets as for the production of regional specialties like ricotta and cheeses.
We made every effort to let consumers know our products abroad, starting from “ricotta forte”, a strong-tasting aged spreadable sheep’s ricotta, and ricotta marzotica, gaining sensible market shares.
Fattorie Chiarappa is the owner of Marte and Anselmi brandnames, which are widely recognised for quality products and brand image.

Fattorie Chiarappa’s core business is focused on three separate but complementary activities:

• production of Ricotta Forte (i.e. strong-tasting sheep’s spreadable aged ricotta)
• maturing of Ricotta Marzotica (i.e. matured sheep’s ricotta for grating) and several kinds of cheeses;
• portioning and packaging for all kind of cheeses and ricotta.
